to the preservation of our habits and customs, to the sense of family and
respect for elders, to cite only these values, which must
constantly inspire and guide our youth.” President Paul Biya said on February 10, 2021.

AFCON mascot: 《Mola》

The appearance of 《Mola》 (in Douala dialect means Friend, brother) recalls the official mascot of CAN 2021 which took place in January and February in Cameroon.

Mola: the friend, the brother, by extension the neighbor with whom we share the same enthusiasm for the time of a match is at the Boulevard du 20 mai. It is a lion, in the colors of Cameroon. Green jersey, red shorts, yellow socks. A very cultural stylistic detail: the sleeves of her outfit in toghu, a fabric from the North-West region.

Mola is the symbol mascot “in a nation whose legitimacy, unity and indivisibility are unequivocal”
