The Minister for Youth and Civic Education takes the floor
Before delivering his closing speech, Mounouna Foutsou introduced the traditional civic minute, which on this particular day will consist of a prayer for peace and living together, and for the Almighty to guide all the activities and resolutions taken at these crossroads for living together.
In his speech, after the customary greetings, the Patron of Youth began by thanking the National Commission for Bilingualism and Multiculturalism and the local authorities of the Yaounde 2 district for hosting and organising this activity in their locality.

At the end of these local crossroads for living together, whose aim was to create a platform for mixing and promoting living together in Cameroon, and whose summary was made today, we note that this activity, which is part of the civil events organised as a prelude to the celebration of the bank holidays and which is part of the PRONEC REAMORCE intensification, makes us aware of the reality of our diversity, but that our different cultures should not be opposed to each other.
Quoting the President of the Republic in his end-of-year message for 2021, he mentions the ideals of peace and unity advocated by the father of the nation.

After the usual pleasantries, he began by thanking the State of Cameroon and the Minister of Youth and Civic Education for all the actions carried out to promote living together.
No declaration has been made by the United Nations for this year, he told us. Nevertheless, the United Nations continues to encourage all actions in favour of peace and living together, which is why 16 May has been declared International Day for Living Together.
